As of November 30, 2020, until at least the end of February 2021, under the authority of Illinois Supreme Court M.R. 30370 (5/20/2020) and Sixteenth Judicial Circuit General Order 21-01, all Kane County Courts are shifting to remote court and services only.
If you have a question about your court date, go to the Kane County Circuit Clerk's website and check under Search Court Records or call their office at (630) 232-3413.
IF you are required by a judge to appear in person at a courthouse, for everyone's safety, a number of procedures are in place:
- Everyone entering a court building will be required to wear a mask/face covering; you are strongly encouraged to bring your own mask/face covering, as the number available at each location will be extremely limited. General Order 20-24, Illinois Supreme Court M.R. 30370 (8/29/2020)
- Each person entering a court building will have their temperature taken (touchless) and be asked health questions, including:
- Have you had contact with anyone who you are aware was symptomatic or COVID-19 positive for more than 10 minutes and within less than 6 feet in the last 14 days?
- Are you COVID positive or symptomatic yourself?
- Social distancing measures will be in place in each courthouse, with seats and pathways marked.
- Anyone not required to appear in court may be asked to wait outside the building. General Order 21-01
