All case types

  • If you are represented by a lawyer, contact your lawyer's office for instructions on how to attend your court date.
  • If you are representing yourself in court, instructions on how to use Zoom to attend court hearings can be found on the 16th Judicial Circuit website and the Kane County Law Library & Self Help Legal Center website.
  • Read the administrative orders for your case type to find out the process and procedures you should follow in your case.  Some orders include the forms that should be used.
  • Court date information is available on KaneCourt.org.  Click on FIND MY COURT DATE.  You may search using your name or case number. If you do NOT find your court date on this site, search the Kane County Circuit Clerk's Office website under Court Records, or you may call the Kane County Circuit Clerk's Office at (630)232.3413.
  • To receive text or email notifications of your future court dates, go to KaneCourt.org, click on HEARING REMINDERS, and subscribe to the service.

If you have a Traffic, Misdemeanor, or DUI case

If you have a Civil case

  • Read the administrative orders for your case type to find out the process and procedures you should follow in your case.​​
  • Forms and instructions for most civil matters may be found on the Illinois Standardized Statewide​ Forms website and the Kane County Circuit Clerk's website under Forms.  Completed forms shall be filed electronically (General Orders 17-20, 21-08, and Local Court Rule 2A).  To learn about how to electronically file (e-file) or file an exemption to e-filing, please see the Kane County Law Library & Self Help Legal Center website page on e-filing resources.  

If you have a Family case

  • Read the administrative orders for your case type to find out the process and procedures you should follow in your case.​​
  • If you are representing yourself and have an issue which needs to be resolved, you must file a motion with the Kane County Circuit Clerk's office​, give notice to the opposing party, and then call the Kane Circuit Clerk's office (630) 232-3413 to schedule a remote court hearing.​

If you have a Juvenile Delinquency case

  • Families and minors are required to appear in person at the Juvenile Justice Center on their first court date on a new petition for adjudication or a petition to revoke a sentence.  Each minor will be assigned a Zoom link to his or her personal case on the first appearance.  Thereafter, the minor and family may appear in person or by Zoom unless specifically told otherwise by the juvenile court judge.  All hearings, trials, and presentations of plea agreements shall be in person unless the juvenile court judge orders otherwise.
  • ​If a minor is currently on probation, he/she should continue to check in with their probation officer as required.​
  • If you are representing yourself and have an issue which needs to be resolved, you must file a motion in person with the Kane County Circuit Clerk's office, schedule a date with the Kane County Circuit Clerk's Office, and give notice to the opposing party.

If you have an or Abuse/Neglect case

  • You should NOT bring children to court unless there is a court order requiring it. If you have questions about whether or not to bring a child to court, you should contact your lawyer or the agency involved in the case. 
  • If you are representing yourself and have an issue which needs to be resolved, you must file a motion in person with the Kane County Circuit Clerk's office​, schedule a date with the Kane County Circuit Clerk's Office, and give notice to the opposing party.
