Possibility- The American Dream and What Ensures Its Success

At the core of our society, past the traditions, standards, and family ties, our beautiful country was founded on the idea of Possibility. Possibility may lead you to many different places in your life, but it also may signify that each action you make leads to the evolution of a better one. In its simplest form, Possibility is the right of every person to dream of an incredible life for themselves, no matter where they were born. But, in order for any dream to come true, regulations must be set into place so everything is equal and available to everyone. And, with that we have the Role of Law in our society.
Law is within every aspect of our daily lives, and sometimes we are so accustomed to it, that we overlook it and let it continue to work silently in our lives. Whether it’s following the speed limit, paying for what you want from the store, or even having integrity in school, we see how honesty is integrated in our lives. We do this without having to force ourselves to follow strict guidelines that measure the meaning of each and every action. Not only is this important for us as citizens, but also important for us to remember that each and every person is equal; not one is above the law. This brings comfort to Americans knowing that people in power are law-abiding citizens and they have earned every right to be in office.
Additionally, the law provides a sense of security, but also reminds us that our country has amendments that are guaranteed to every citizen, and this helps our country stand out among others. Furthermore, we have the freedom of speech, religion, and assembly, and they are not just words, but tools to use in our lives and careers. This shows people can speak out against inequality at work, and lead to change that may benefit numerous employees. Both of these things are part of possibility, and embedded is the belief that one’s actions can make way for self improvement.
Finally, the connection between possibilities and the law merge into one. Not only do you have the ability to go and change the world, but you can do it with a sense of security in mind at all times. Our individual dreams form the American Dream- a promise for which people across the world yearn for. But, without the Law stepping in to make sure that it’s a fair fight for all, not a single dream would be in existence. By respecting the Law, we not only show patriotism for our country, but also the basis that we are founded on, the idea that every citizen has the right to dream and eventually succeed.
